I’ve decided, I think, to have a go at the Solo Photo Book Month, SoFoBoMo, challenge.
The idea is to get 35 pictures together over a month and put them together to make a book. You have 30 days to do it although unlike the Write a Book in a Month challenge you aren’t fixed to a particular date. So I am going with the very last 30 days, ending on June 30th.
My topic is “Street Merchants of Delhi”. The idea is to take pictures of anyone selling anything by the side of the road in and around Delhi.
The following image is an example. This lady is a fruit vendor at a market in “The Pink CIty” in Jaipur.
An interesting thing about this image is that the red from her sari totally blew out the red channel on my D700. It was even more red than the tomatoes ! Using the Nik “Viveza” tool I reduced the red saturation in a radial amount from the centre of her sari. This restored the detail in the sari and still let me still get deep luscious reds on the tomatoes.
